1983 - Sensation at Monza

Group C celebrates its inaugural season in 1983, and Joest Racing causes a sensation during the legendary Porsche 956 prototype’s debut at the Italian circuit Monza: Bob Wollek and Thierry Boutsen, in a private Joest-Porsche, beat the Porsche works team to the chequered flag. Wollek also wins the German Sportscar Championship. Furthermore, Joest Racing prevails in the European sportscar championship and again wins the Porsche Cup.
