After the Le Mans victory of the Audi R10 TDI in its debut season in 2006, Joest Racing repeats this triumph in 2007. Again, the winners are Frank Biela, Marco Werner and Emanuele Pirro. Joest Racing already scores its ninth Le Mans victory. For a long time, it looked as if this will be another 1-2 victory, but after 16 hours in the lead, the other Audi retires after an accident owing to a loosened left rear wheel. Already in March, Audi and Joest Racing have their first feeling of déjà vu in 2007: nobody defeated the successful partners in the Sebring 12 Hour race held in Florida.
